Comments: Agastache 'Summer Love' or Agastache is a fabulous hybrid perennial with an upright, compact growth habit. It is of hybrid origin by hybridizer Eggar (1990). In mid-Summer, Agastache 'Summer Love' constantly bear small, fragrant fuschia, tubular flowers, followed later by seeds. Hummingbirds, butterflies and bees are magnetized by the nectar-rich blossoms of Agastache 'Summer Love' while birds especially goldfinches enjoy feasting on the seeds. It has herbaceous licorice-scented leaves. Agastache 'Summer Love' is easily propagated from seeds. It thrives best in well-drained, mildly acidic, alkaline or neutral soil in a sunny location. Agastache 'Summer Love' is low maintenance. It self sows readily. Deers would not go near it. Mass plant Agastache 'Summer Love' for a terrific display in the perennial borders. It can also be container cultivated. Cut back plants to about 6" in the Fall. The licorice scent and bright colors makes Agastache 'Summer Love' a great addition to the Summer landscape.
