Coments: Aptenia cordifolia 'Red Apple' or Baby Sunrose or Heartleaf Ice Plant or Litocarpus cordifolia or Mesembryanthemum cordifolia is a perennial succulent plant with a fast spreading growth habit. All year round it produces cute red flowers attracting many butterflies, bees and birds. Aptenia cordifolia 'Red Apple' is easily propagated from herbaceous stem cuttings. It performs best in well-drained soil in a mildly acidic, neutral or mildly alkaline soil, in partly to full shade. Baby Sunrose is ideal for xeriscaping. It is low maintenance and tolerates drought or frost. Aptenia cordifolia is a fire retardant. Mass plant Litocarpus cordifolia for an attractive ground cover or for edging driveways or sidewalks. Heartleaf ice Plant can also be container cultivated. Use them in hanging baskets and allow the trailing stems to cascade down the sides of it for a delightful display. Mesembryanthemum cordifolia is eye-catching and attracts foot traffic.
