Arisaema amurense or Asian Green Dragon or Chinese Cobra Lily is a hardy perennial with a fast, tuberous growth habit.  It is a native of Northeast China, Russia and Korea, it grows well in temperate climates.  From mid-Spring till late Summer Arisaema amurense produces ornate green with white striped pitcher on stalk a few inches above leaf.  This is followed by red berries in the Fall.  Amur Jack-in-the-pulpit has a single palmate folaige with 5 leaflets.  Asian Green Dragon is easily propagated from seeds or offsets.  The offsets are easily snapped off and planted as an individual plant.  Arisaema amurense thrives best in a sunny or part shade location, in well-drained, moist, acidic or neutral soil.  Mass plant Chinese Cobra Lily in the woodland garden for an exotic display.  It can also be container cultivated in colder areas and brought indoors for the Winter.  Arisaema amurense is an excellent ornamental plant for the shade garden.  Plant several plants for cross pollination to take place in order to produce fruits.  Clean Amur Cobra Lily seeds help germination process. Wear gloves when handling seeds as they can cause numbness in fingers.  Place harvested seeds in a zipbloc bag, clean seeds by squishing all the pulp from the seeds.  Clean them in water with several water changes then place seeds in potting mix and lightly cover with soil.   No cold treatment necessary.   Arisaema amurense provides Summer and Fall interests.  Amur Jack-in-the-pulpit is really eye-catching and makes a great conversation piece.
