Comments: Astrantia major or Great Masterwort is a herbaceous perennial plant with an erect growth habit. It is a native of Europe and western Asia. Astrantia major produces inch-wide greenish-white umbrella-shaped blossoms with red shades, borne atop sparesly-branched, smooth stems with very few leaves with 3-7 toothed segments. It has interesting open star-shaped bracts. Great Masterwort self produce by means of buds at base of plant.
