Canna Lily Firebird

Origin:  Southern United States and south to northern Argentina
Family:  Cannaceae (canna)
Light:  Full sun/ sun-part shade
Height:  2-4'
Spread:  1'-2' 
Blooms:  Crimson-red, late Spring
Foliage:  Large, bluish-green
Soil:  Rich, mildly acidic, keep moist
Water:  Tolerates wetness
Fertilizer:  Once a month with 10-10-10
Pest / Disease:  Japanese beetles, bud rot, rust, mosaic
Propagation:  Rhizome division
Uses: Large container, center of flower bed, landscaping, pond
Comments:  Canna Lily Firebird is a brilliant looking tropical perennial that is very easy to grow as it only needs 6 hours of sunshine and it multiplies fast. Remove spent flowers to promote new growth.  Grows well as an aquatic.
