Comments:  Callisia fragrans or Basket Plant or Chain Plant or Golden tendril or Inch Plant or Russian Holistic Medicinal Plant or Spironema fragrans is a tender tropical perennial with a low, fast spreading growth habit.  It is a native of Mexico.  In late Winter, Callisia fragrans produces stalks of small white blossoms, borne  in a cluster of three.  Basket Plant is easily propagated from cuttings and thrives best in a sunny to part shade location.  It loves humidity and moisture. Inch Plant makes a delightful foliage plant; the leaves have a lovely purplish tinge if grown in part shade.  Mass plant Chain Plant for an excellent ground cover as it  soon covers a bare area quickly.  It is an excellent plant for hanging baskets or container and allowing it to freely cascade down the sides of it for an awesome display.  It provide a tropical flair used indoors in the home or office.  Inch Plant produces roots from the nodes of the plant and looks exquisite when the runners shoots out plantlets.  It is low maintenance and spreads fast from its runners.  Spironema fragrans does not tolerate drought and is very easy of overwinter indoors.  It is a wonderful holistic medicinal plant to many people from Russia and Europe who have been using it for many years, especially to strengthen immunity, improve circulatory system and as a nutritional supplement.   Callisia fragrans makes an ideal gift plant and is a super easy plant for the beginner gardener.
