Comments:  Campanula takesimana 'Elizabeth' or Korean Bellflower is a hardy perennial with a fast, rhizomatous growth habit.  It has evergreen rosette foliage.  In mid-Summer, Campanula takesimana 'Elizabeth' produces abundant large, lightly fragrant, showy bell-shaped pale pink flowers borne on arching stems, rising above dark green leaves.  This is later followed by seeds.  Butterflies and bees are magnetized by the nectar-rich flowers.  The freshly cut flowers make excellent floral arrangements.  Korean Bellflower is easily propagated from seeds or rhizomatous divisions.  It performs best in well-drained, moist acidic or alkaline rich soil in a sunny to part shade environment.  Campanula takesimana 'Elizabeth' is low maintenance.  It self sows readily and spreads by means of its running roots.  When the crowns die back late Fall, new plants pop up at the ends of shallow rhizomatous roots.  Divide every few years to prevent overcrowding.  Use Korean Bellflower under taller trees or shrubs as it quickly forms an eye-catching groundcover.  It is excellent for naturalizing.  Plant them in beds or borders for a spectacular display.  Campanula takesimana 'Elizabeth' looks wonderful in rock gardens or in a woodland setting.  It can also be container cultivated to contain its spread.  Korean Bellflower looks exquisite in the Summer landscape.

USDA Zones:  4-10
