Comments:  Canna 'Russian Red' or Canna Lily is a tender tropical perennial with a fast clumping, rhizomatous growth habit.  It is of hybrid origin.  Canna Lily 'Russian Red' has beautiful burgundy foliage  In mid-Summer, Canna 'Russian Red' produces small red-orange flowers, followed later by seeds.  Hummingbirds are magnetized by the nectar-rich flowers.  Canna Lily 'Russian Red' is easily propagated from seeds, rhizome or offset divisions.  It thrives best in well-drained, mildly acidic, neutral or alkaline soil in a sunny environment.  Canna 'Russian Red' spreads by means of its rhizomatous roots.  Divide clump when overcrowded.  Mass plant Canna Lily 'Russian Red' for an eye-catching tropical hedge or use as specimen plants.  Use them for an attractive privacy screen or in the back of the border for a spectacular display.  The awesome stature and excellent foliage color of Canna 'Russian Red'makes a statement in the Summer landscape.  It is a great addition to the tropical garden.
