Comments:  Cymbopogon citratus  or West Indian Lemon Grass or Andropogon  citratus is a tropical herbal plant or ornamental grass with a low, clumping growth habit.  It is a native of India.  Cymbopogon citratus is easily propagated from cuttings or rootball divisions.  It has medicinal value.  Western Lemon Grass is popularly used in Southeast Asian cuisines especially in marinating meats, fish, in stews and in rice and as a tea.  It has a lemony-ginger flavor when crushed.  Cymbopogaon citratus keeps mosquito and snakes at bay.  Mass plant Andropogon citratus for a tropical flair as an ornamental grass or as a specimen plant in the perennial landscape.  It is a beautiful grassy plant plant and is low maintenance.
