Comments: Delosperma cooperi or Cooper's Ice Plant or Hardy Ice Plant or Trailing Ice Plant or Mesembryanthemum cooperi is a hardy perennial succulent with a low, spreading growth habit. It is indigenous to South Africa. In mid-Summer, Delosperma cooperi produces interesting purple flowers atop green, smooth, finger-like succulent foliage. Cooper's Ice Plant is easily propagated from seed or woody stem cuttings. It performs best in a sunny location in well-drained, mildly acidic soil. Hardy Ice Plant is low maintenance and tolerates drought well. Mass plant Mesembryanthemum cooperi in the border or along walkway or driveway. They quickly spread to form a nicely matted area. Trailing Ice Plant looks exquisite on slopes or in the rock garden. It looks really eye-catching and makes an ideal groundcover.
