Comments: Forsythia 'Northern Gold' or Northern Gold Forsythia or Goldenbells is an ornamental deciduous shrub with an upright, multi-stemmed growth habit. In early Spring, it produces stunning golden-yellow bell-shaped blossoms along the leafless branches. The flowers appear before the foliage does. Northern Gold Forsythia is a harbinger of Spring. Florists are delighted with the cut flowers. Goldenbells is easily propagated from stem cuttings and thrives best in well-drained, acidic or neutral soil in a sunny location. Forsythia 'Northern Gold' is low maintenance and tolerates drought or moist conditions. Goldenbells is a fast grower. Prune after flowering for a neater appearance. Use Northern Gold Forsythia in groups of 3 as an accent plant or mass plant for an eye-catching display in the landscape as a property barrier or as a hedge. Deers tend to avoid this graceful, salt-tolerant plant.
