Comments: Artocarpus champedan Spreng. or Cempedak or Cham-pa-da or Chempedak or Sempedak or Temedak or Tjampedak is a strong, woody tropical fruit tree that bears big fruits.  When the fruit ripens, it has a strong and sweet smell.  The Cempedak fruit is easier to cut than the Nangka fruit.  Cut the base of the fruit then pull out the stalk.  You can see that there are many fleshy yellow fruit bulbs are hanging onto the stalk.  There is a seed inside each bulb. These seeds can be boiled with salt and eaten as a dessert. Remove the fruits along the core and eat them fresh or fried in batter.  Artocarpus champedan Spreng. is related to Nangka and is an excellent tree for the sunny garden.
