Comments: Musa Dwarf Orinoco or Dessert Banana is a cold tolerant monocarpic banana plant.  Its vanilla ice cream-flavored fruits are eaten either fresh or cooked.
This dessert-type banana plant is cold tolerant. Add 2-3" mulch to plant for moisture retention.  Harvest fruit when they stop growing.  Cut down the stalk of almost ripe bananas and leave in cool dry place to ripen.  Cut tree down after harvesting to allow suckers to grow.  In colder areas, remove top part of plant, dig root and store till next planting season.
USDA Hardiness Zones :  8-10
