Comments:
Carya illoensis or Pecan tree is a self-seeder and is an easy to grow tropical perennial that produces plentiful tasty nuts.  Pecan nuts taste delicious when eaten raw and they are popularly used in baking especially in Pecan Pies.  Carya illoensis makes a great landscaping plant for the home.  I have a beautiful paper-shelled pecan tree growing in Jenny's Garden.  I mulch the base of my pecan tree with wood chips to control weeds.
