It is a pretty hybrid of Geranium himalayense and Geranium pratense, resulting wonderfully with much larger leaves and broader flowers. In mid-Summer, Geranium 'Johnson's Blue' produces vivid blue blossoms, adding colors to the Summer garden. It has deeply -cut lobed herbaceous foliage. Himalayan Geranium does not set seeds but is easily propagated from rootball divisions. It performs best in moist, well-drained, acidic, neutral or alkaline soil in morning sun and afternoon shade. Geranium 'Johnson's Blue' is low maintenance, It spreads by means of its roots and soon forms a lovely clump. Trim Geranium himalayense x pratense after flowering to promote new growth and repeated blooms. Every few years, divide rootballs when overcrowded. Mass plant Lilac Cranesbill in borders or in a cottage setting for a delightful display. It looks awesome in mixed plantings, especially around bulbs. Himalayan Geranium is popularly sought after by hobbyists for its pretty Summer colors. They make excellent groundcovers or container plants.
