annual/perennial groundcover with a low spreading, vigorous growth habit.
Hemigraphis is a native to tropical Asia; it is a genus of plants in the
Acanthaceae family, consisting of about 30 species. From Spring
till Summer, small white blossoms appear among contrasting narrow,
glossy, purple foliage. Butterflies and bees are magnetized by
the nectar-rich blossoms.
Hemigraphis
repanda 'Acanthus' is easily propagated from cuttings.
It thrives well in a sunny to part shade location. Mass plant for
a dramatic groundcover or rock garden. Use them
in window boxes, beds or borders. For added beauty and colors, line them along sidewalks or
driveways. Dragon's Breath also looks ideal in hanging baskets or
use them in mixed container to accent the patio.
