Comments:  Hemerocallis 'Happy Returns' or Daylily 'Happy Returns' is a semi-evergreen perennial with a compact, medium growth habit.  It is an early season hybrid rebloomer by hybridizer Apps (1986).  From late Spring till frost, Hemerocallis 'Happy Returns' produces 18" long scape of eye-catching slightly fragrant, prolific, bright yellow, single-petaled edible blossoms, lasting only for a day.  Daylily 'Happy Returns has semi-evergreen, sword-like, basal foliage.  It is easily propagated from rootball divisions.  It thrives best in well-drained, mildy acidic, neutral or mildly alkaline soil in a sunny to part shade environment.  Hemerocallis 'Happy Returns goes dormant in Winter.  Trim stems after flowering season is over. Divide in Fall or early Spring after a few years.  Mass plant Daylily 'Happy Returns' in borders or containers for a dramatic display.  It looks excellent as edging planats.  Hemerocallis 'Happy Returns' brightens up the Summer landscape.  It is a terrific show stopper.
Interestingly, Daylily 'Hapy Returns' is noted for Honorable Mention award.
