Comments:  Hemerocallis 'Jungle beauty' o Daylily 'Jungle Beauty' is a hardy hybrid perennial with a rapid clumping growth habit.  It is a late mid-season bybrid rebloomer by hybridizer Apps (1990).  In early Summer, Hemerocallis 'Jungle Beauty' produces  electrifying velvety, almost black, thick, waxy, single-petaled, non-fragrant blossoms with an yellow eyezone.  Butterflies are magnetized by the nectar-rich blossoms.  Daylily 'Jungle Beauty' has sword-like, basal foliage.  It is easily propagated from rootball divisions.  Hemerocallis 'Jungle Beauty' thrives best in well-drained, mildly acidic, neutral or mildly alkaline soil, in a sunny to part shade location.  Daylily 'Jungle Beauty' loves humidity and naturalizes easily.  It tolerates drought and cold and is not fussy of soil type. Deers would not go near this chartreuse-throated show stopper.  Mass plant this dazzling diploid beauty in borders for a dramatic display in the Summer landscape.  Hemerocallis 'Jungle Beauty' really stands out in mixed planting, especially among paler colored counterparts.  Use them in borders, along driveways or walkways.  It is often seen growing together with Daffodils.  It can also be container cultivated.  Daylily 'Jungle Beauty' makes ideal xeriscaping plants.  It goes dormant in Winter.  Divide every 3 or 4 years if overcrowded.  Hemerocallis'Jungle Beauty' catches a lot of attention.
Interestingly, Daylily 'Jungle Beauty' is noted for Honorable Mention (1996)
