Comments: Hemigraphis exotica or Purple Waffle Plant is a tropical perennial with a low, trailing growth habit. It is a native of New Guinea. In mid-Sumer, Hemigraphis exotica produces small white blossoms amidst delightful puckered burgundy foliage. It is easily propagated from stem cuttings and does best in well-drained, moist peat and perlite, ideally between 60-85 degrees Fahrenheit. Purple Waffle Plant is humidity loving. Trim when leggy for a more rounded n lusher appearance. My Hemigraphis exotica enjoys warm water occassionaly. It makes an excellent foliage plant. Grow Purple Waffle Plant in hanging baskets or container for indoors. Mass plant Hemigraphis exotica for a splendid looking groundcover. The attractive mottled leaves of this New Guinea beauty easily stir up a conversation.
