Comments:  Heuchera 'Blackout' or Alum Root or Alumroot or Coral Bell or Amethyst Mist is a very showy perennial with a mounding growth habit.  It is a showy hybrid by hybridizer Scheys (2007).  From late Spring to early Summer, small creamy flowers, followed later by seeds.  A handful of these cut flowers make a lovely bouquet.  Heuchera 'Blackout' has very glossy, scalloped deep bronze-green foliage which makes it a desirable foliage plant.  It thrives best in well-drained, mildly acidic, neutral or alkaline soil in a sunny to part shade environment.   Alumroot grown in borders or beds add contrast to other perennials.  It can also be container cultivated.  Heuchera 'Blackout' is low maintenance.  Deers would not go near it.  Mass plant Alum Root 'Blackout' for a splendid groundcover under taller shrubs.  Plant them in beddings or borders or use them as edging plants for a strking walkway.  It holds its color really well.  Heuchera 'Blackout' makes incredibly nice companion plants.  This stunning beauty captures everyone's attention.

USDA Zones:  4-9
