Comments:  Hylotelephium 'Jaws' or Sedum 'Jaws' or Sedum is a hardy succulent with an upright, vigorous clumping growth habit.  A 2005 introduction by Clifford, it is a hybrid between Sedum spectabilis and Sedum telephium.  Sedum 'Jaws' has exquisite herbaceous, waxy, pale gray-green, waxy, curled, cupped foliage, with yellow, jaw-like, deeply serrated margins.  New shoots appear from the base of plant.  From late Summer till frost, Sedum 'Jaws' produces long-blooming, large salmon-rose flowerheads consisting of a corymb of small star-shaped flowers, followed later by seedheads.  Butterflies and bees are magnetized by the nectar-rich flowers.  The freshly cut flowers look lovely in floral arrangements or bouquets.  Sedum 'Jaws' is easily propagated from stem cuttings.  It performs best in well-drained, alkaline soil in a sunny environment.  Sedum 'Jaws' is low maintenance and tolerates drought, hence ideal for xeriscaping.  It can also be container cultivated and is excellent for mixed planting.  Mass plant Sedum 'Jaws' in sunny borders for a showy display.  The dried seedheads provide Winter interest.   Sedum 'Jaws' is very eye-catching.  It attracts attention and it easily strikes up a conversation.

USDA Zones:  3-9
