Comments: Iris hollandica 'Oriental Beauty' or Dutch Iris is a perennial bulbous plant with a
medium spreading growth habit. It is a very showy specie hybrid. In mid or late Spring, Iris hollandica 'Oriental Beauty' produces 2' long stalks of soft, fragrant, showy bicolor flowers with yellow and white falls and violet-blue standards; this is followed later by seeds. The freshly cut flowers are excellent in floral arrangements. Hummingbirds are magnetized by the nectar-rich flowers. Dutch Iris 'Oriental Beauty' is easily propagated in Fall from bulb divisions; seedlings from seeds however will not come true. It thrives best in well-drained, acidic or alkaline soil in a sunny or part shade environment. Iris hollandica 'Oriental Beauty' is low maintenance and is deer resistant. Mass plant in the border for an exquisite display. Dutch Iris 'Oriental Beauty' can also be container cultivated. It is a terrific show stopper.
