Origin: Native of Tasmania 
Light: Part-full shade 
Height:  6-7'

Comments:  Dodonaea filiformis or Fine-Leaf Hop or Handsome Hops bush is a  perennial shrub with an upright growth habit.  In late Spring ornamental light red hops adorn the tree. 
Dodonaea filiformis can be propagated from seeds and prefers a part to full shade environment.  It is a fast growing shrub that tolerates wind and frost well.  Fine-Leaf Hop is low growing and makes an ideal screen plant.  It can be pruned as a hedge in the dry landscape. Dodonaea filiformis  bears exotic looking fruits that are red-purple and paperty textured.  It can also be container cultivated for the patio.  In its native habitat, Handsome Hops is found growing in open forests and lake shores.
