Origin:   Native to Asia.  Name derives from an Indian deity
Family:  Rubiaceae

, blooms  at branch tips from late Spring till early winter  
Foliage:  Dark green, glossy, heart-shaped
Soil:  Well-drained, moist organic mix or use Canadian Peat Moss

Fertilizer:  Acid-forming fertilizer
Propagation:  Seeds, cuttings
Insects/Disease:  Scale, chlorosis from excessive alkalinity, leaf spotting, mealy bugs,
Uses:  Landscaping, specimen,  ornamental, containers, hedges
Caution:  Plant with marigolds to keep older plants from root-knot nematodes.

 Ipomoea carnea or Bush Morning Glory or Morning Glory Tree or Badoh Negro or Borrachero or Matacabra or Ipomoea fistulosa or Ipomoea carnea subsp. fistulosa is a beautiful perennial shrub. They are beautiful perennial shrubs with moderate growth rate .  If planted in shade or if  there's excess water on the leaves, sooty mold will set in.   There is another cultivar with pink blooms.
