Comments: Kerria japonica or Japanese Rose or Easter Rose or
Japanese Kerria is a vigorous shrub with errect stems and an overarching
habit. It is easy to grow and spreads freely via suckers.
The long smooth green stems of the Japanese Rose provide Winter
interests. . Keep plants neat by removing dead shoot.
Periodically trim Japanese Kerria to the ground for a fuller growth.
In colder regions, frost will kill it to the ground however the plant
will return stronger the following season with more blooms. Grown
in masses, Kerria
japonica makes a great border plant, foundation plant or a great shrub for
shady places. There are different cultivars of Kerria
japonica. Kerria japonica 'Aureo variegata' has yellow leaf
margins, Kerria japonica 'Picta' has white-edged leaves and Kerria
japonica 'Pleniflora' is taller and has ball-shaped double flowers.
