Chinaberry Tree or Bead Tree or Indian Lilac or Lelah or Persian Lilac or Pride of India or Sichuan Pagoda Tree or Soaperry Tree or Umbrella Tree or White Cedar is a beautiful fast growing deciduous tree with sprays of fragrant beautiful violet flowers from Spring till Summer.  This insect resistant  tree can reach a height of about 24 feet in 5 years' time. Chinaberry Tree looks gorgeous when the leaves turn golden yellow in the Fall.  After all the leaves have fallen off, Indian Lilac looks very ornamental when only the fruits are seen hanging from the branches of the tree.  The birds love the fruits of Persian Lilac. The leaf litter increases the Nitrogen level and reduces the aluminum levels in the soil.
USDA Hardiness Zones : 7-10
