Comments: Sapium sebiferum or Candleberry Tree or
Chicken Tree or Chinese Tallow or Florida Aspen or Popcorn-Tree is a beautiful
ornamental fast growing tree
with fruits that look like popcorn. In the Fall, the leaves turn
yellow and red and fall off leaving the popcorn seeds on the tree
providing Winter interest. Chinese Tallow is a carefree and
drought tolerant tree. It is pest resistant and self seeds.
Birds especially the Pileated woodpeckers are attracted to the seeds of the Florida Aspen
tree and the bees loves the flowers. Popcorn-Tree tree makes an
attractive shade tree in the landscaping garden.
