Comments: Talipariti tiliaceum 'Albo-variegatus' or Hibiscus
Tilliaceus or Sea Hibiscus
or Mahoe or Variegated Beach Hibiscus is a remarkable tropical perennial shrub
with lovely reddish-orange flowers from late Spring to late Summer.
This ornamental perennial shrub is carefree and low maintenance. Sea
Hibiscus attracts many butterflies and hummingbird. A self-seeder,
Mahoe is easily propagated by seeds or cuttings. The variegated
leaves of Sea Hibiscus are strikingly beautiful, with mosiac-patterns of
cream, emerald green and white; the new leaves start out crimson.
Watch the color of the flowers change from yellow
in the morning to orange at noon and finally to scarlet red in the
evenings. Hibiscus Tilliaceus provides Winter interest in the tropical
landscaping garden. Grown in a container, Talipariti tiliaceum
'Albo-variegatus' makes a gorgeous houseplant or as an accent plant for
the deck or patio. Variegated Beach Hibiscus is an amazing plant I can't live
without.
