Origin:  Native to Mexico

Comments: 
Yucca guatemalensis or Giant Yucca or Spineless Yucca or Yucca elephantipes is a tall and handsome single-stemmed  succulent plant with an erect trunk. This versatile sub-tropical plant is drought tolerant and requires minimal care.  Giant Yucca is exotic-looking and makes a lovely plant for the patio or deck and it is people-friendly since it is spineless.  Spineless Yucca is a fast growing ornamental plant makes a bold statement in the desert-like setting or xeriscaping landscape.  As an indoor plant, Yucca elephantipes is a superb air filter plant, given sufficient light and reduced watering.  Keep Yucca guatemalensis dry between waterings and do not allow plant to sit in water as it will cause root rot.  Remove lower dead leaves of Spinless Yucca to maintain looks.  Interestingly, Yucca flower is the state flower of  New Mexico.
