Duranta erecta or Golden Dewdrop or Honey Drops or Pigeon Berry or Brazilian Skyflower is an attractive thorny shrub with flowers that turn into golden colored berries.  These berries hang gracefully from its branches.  Protect Duranta erecta from cold. The exotic looking blooms of Golden Dewdrop attract many butterflies and the songbirds and pigeons have a fiesta with the seeds.  Trim Pigeon Berry for bushiness. Brazilian Skyflower is an excellent plant to have in the part-shade perennial landscape.  Its delightful sweet blue flowers attract many passerbys.  Duranta erecta makes wonderful hedge plants or grow one in your favorite container to enhance the look of your patio or deck and place it where you can enjoy its fragrance.
