Comments:  Lavendula stoechas 'Silver Anouk' or Spanish Lavender or Lavendula Silver Summer is a perennial herbal plant with a compact growth habit.  It is hybridized by Koning in 2008.  From early to late Summer, Lavendula stoechas 'Silver Anouk' produces fragrant purple blossoms atop aromatic, fuzzy, silvery-gray foliage.  Bees, butterflies go crazy over the nectar-rich blossoms while birds enjoy feasting on the seeds.  Florists are delighted with the cut flowers.  The dried flowers make wonderful fragrant potppourii.  Deadhead spent blossoms to promote extra blooms.  Spanish Lavender is easily propagated from simple layering or hardwood heel cuttings.  Seeds would not come true to parent.  Lavender Silver Summer thrives best in well-drained, sandy soil in a sunny location.  It is low maintenance and tolerates drought condition.  Mass plant Spanish Lavender in perennial borders or rock garden for a spectacular display.  Lavendula stoechas 'Silver Anouk' can also be container cultivated.  Grow some along walkways or the patio where its beauty and fragrance can be appreciated.  Lavender Silver Summer is ideal for xeriscaping.  It  is a terrific show stopper.
