Comments:  Lillium 'Orange Pixie'  or Asiatic Lily is a dwarf hybrid with a fast, compact growth habit.  It has deciduous smooth, green foliage.  In Summer, Lillium 'Orange Pixie' produces showy bright orange blossoms with 6 spotted petals, followed later by seeds.  Cut spent flowers to half length of stem to store nutrients for next season's growth.  Asiatic Lily is easily propagated from seeds, bulb scale or offset divisions taken in Fall.  It thrives best in well-drained, moist, organic-rich soil in a sunny to part shade location.  Plant in multiples of 3 or more for a terrific view in a raised border to prevent root rot.  Use it as an accent plant or in the rock garden.  Mass plant Lillium 'Orange Pixie'  as edging plants for a splendid display.  Asiatic Lily can also be container cultivated.  Its delighful Summer colors stops traffic in their path.

USDA Zones:  4-9
