Comments:  Lithodora diffusa 'Grace Ward' or Lithodora is a hardy perennial  groundcover with a low, creeping  growth habit.  It is a native of southern Europe.  Lithodora diffusa 'Grace Ward' has evergreen, velvety foliage.  In late Spring or early Summer it produces eye-catching bright blue, small flowers.  Lithodora diffusa 'Grace Ward' is easily propagated from softwood cuttings.  It thrives best in well-drained acidic soil in a sunny location.  Lithodora is low maintenance and tolerates drought conditions.  Do not overwater. This lovely prostrate groundcover is a fast grower and soon forms a nice mat.  Lithodora diffusa 'Grace Ward' is excellent for xeriscaping.  Mass plant in the under taller plants in the dry landscape.  Use them in rock gardens for a pleasing visual effect.  Give it a trim in the Fall for desired shape and size and to promote growth.
