Soil:  Well-drained, rich, loamy soil with added leaf mold, keep moist when growing, dry when dormant
Water:  Regular.  Over-watering will cause root rot.
Fertilizer:  Weak solution of Miracle-Gro

Uses:  For container,  houseplant
Comments:  Phalaenopsis Orchid or Moth Orchid is a large and well-grown hardy tropical plant.  It is very easy to grow as it gets its nourishment from the rain or wind.  Grows well under a shade tree or an East or West window.  Roots might grow over sides of pot.  Trim off any shriveled or brown root.  Repot after flowering period.  Remove old media, use fir bark or others;  do not use soil or potting mix for terrestrial orchids.  Ideal day temperatures of 75-85 degreesF and night temperatures of 60-65 degreesF.
