Comments: Oxalis regnellii 'Triangularis' or Lucky shamrock or Purple and Black False Shamrock is an bulbous perennial with a low, clumping, moderate growth habit. It is a native of South America. Oxalis regnellii 'Triantularis' has exquisite purple and black, triangular-shaped, tri-lobed, smooth foliage. It repeatedly produces pinkish, single-petaled, funnel-shaped blossoms. Lucky Shamrock is easily propagated from bulbil divisions. It thrives best in well-drained, moist, acidic, sandy, loamy with peat moss added in a partly shaded environment. Mass plant Purple and Black False Shamrock for a wonderful groundcover in a woodland setting or in borders. Use them under the shade of taller plants. Oxalis regnellii 'Triangularis' spreads by bulbils and soon forms a lovely groundcover. It can also be container cultivated and makes an excellent indoor plant, sitting it by the windowsill. Fertilize weekly with well-balance liquid fertilizer during growth season. It goes dormant about 3 times a year; reduce watering and remove dead leaves only when they have turned brown. Purple and Black False Shamrock makes an ideal hanging basket plant. It is a showy foliage plant in the absence of its flowers. Oxalis regnellii 'Triangularis' is an attention getter.
