It is a native of Japan and is widely cultivated there. In mid-Summer, Pecteillis radiata produces exquisite and unusual white blossoms shaped like birds in flight, followed later by seeds. This unique plant is propagated from seeds, bulbils or offset division. Crane Orchid seeds germinate easily on water surface. The plant produces offsets which can be easily removed from the parent and planted separately. Egret Orchid bulbils will germinate well in properly-drained, highly acidic, moist soil. Live Sphagnum moss aid germination. Water Peacock Orchid well in Summer. In Winter, keep bulbs dry to prevent rot. Mass plant Sagi-so as aquatic plants. Habenaria radiata can also be container cultivated as a house plant. In colder areas, protect plant from the cold. Egret Orchid attracts attention and will easily capture your heart.
