Capsicum annuum 'Medusa' or Medusa Pepper Plant or Ornamental Pepper is an exotic annual with an erect compact growth habit.  It bears unique fruits with an ever-changing array of colors. The name 'Medusa' resembles Medusa's mythological hair.  These colorful small fruits are tapered, pointing upright and look like a messy bunch of  twisted snakes, borne above the foliage.  The dramatic looking peppers of Capsicum annuum 'Medusa' initially are green and matures in different stages to yellow then to orange and finally ripens to red.  All of the 3 colors are on  the plant anytime you look at it and and they really make a long lasting impression. Medusa Pepper Plant is easily propagated from seeds in moist soil. It is  low maintenance very easy to grow. The fruits are mild to the taste and is safe to grow around children.  Heat-loving Capsicum annuum 'Medusa' thrives well between day temperatures of 65-75 degreesF and night temperatures of between 60-65 degreesF.  Grown en masse, Medusa Pepper Plant adds a lot of drama to the perennial bed or border;  they make great container plants for decorating the patio or deck.  Capsicum annuum 'Medusa' also makes an awesome colorful indoor plant for decorating the home or office.  Capsicum annuum 'Medusa' is grown mainly as an ornamental plant and not for food.  It is a great show stopper and draws a lot of attention from many  passerbys.
