Comments: Celosia argentea var. spicata or Flamingo Feathers or Cockscomb or
Chinese Woolflower is a wheat type celosia that is tall and erect.
This
tropical annual has a clumping habit and produces showy long blooming
flowers from late Spring to Fall. Flamingo Feathers need to be pinched regularly to
promote more blooms and lush growth. These background plants are self-seeders and
love the
heat. Deadhead if you do not want volunteers next
season. Cockscomb is an eye-catching annual that is so easy to
grow. These plants add a bold accent to the garden when planted in masses in the beddings or grown in containers as
accent plants for the patio. The magnificent Celosia spicata flowers are popularly used
in either fresh or dried flower arrangements when they are cut and dried.
