Comments: Cuphea hyssopifolia or False Heather or Mexican Heather
is a lovely tender tropical perennial plant that produces small purple
flowers all year round. This fast growing shrub-like groundcover
attracts many bees and butterflies. Mexican Heather is
deer-resistant, carefree and low maintenance. It is easy to grow
and looks nice at the back of a perennial border when planted in masses.
Trim False Heather to maintain shape and size. The cuttings
are easily propagated. Cuphea hyssopifolia is an annual in
colder areas.
