Comments:  Cuphea pinetorum or Firecracker Cuphea is a pretty tropical perennial plant that attracts many hummingbirds and butterflies.  It is an easy to grow herbaceous plant that does not demand much attention. The bright colored blooms of Firecracker Cuphea add color to the xeriscaping landscape.  Cuphea pinetorum is also grown as a medicinal plant.  The Mayans used it as a  traditional medicine to cure diarrhea.
