Blooms:  Fragrant, single, magenta-pink with white eye and fringed edges, from spring-fall
Foliage:  Silvery-grey, narrow

Well-drained, with small amount of lime added (pH 7.0)

Propagation:  Seeds, stem cuttings, divisions
Uses:  Border, bedding, hedges, mass planting, container, rock garden
Caution:  Plant may cause allergic reaction.  Wash hands after handling.
Comments:  Dianthus gratianopolitanus 'Firewitch' or Cheddar Pinks is a lovely low-growing mat-forming tropical perennial which attracts bees and butterflies especially the Giant Swallowtail, Eastern Tigertail and Skipper butterflies love them for their nectar.  Deadhead to promote more blooms.  Cheddar Pinks looks lovely when grown in masses in the rock garden.
