Family:  Paeoniaceae
Light:  Full sun/ Sun-part shade

Blooms:  Fragrant, vibrant pink with frilly yellow center, in late Spring
Foliage:  Glossy green turning to bronze-purple in Fall
Soil:  Well-drained, rich, moist
Fertilizer:  Top with 1" compost annually.  Add a handful of lime at time of planting
Water:  Moist
Propagation:  Rootball division
Uses:  Borders, beds, driveway, rock gardens, hedges, cut flowers, landscaping, mass planting
Comments:  Paeonia lactifolia 'Bowl of Beauty' or Garden Peony or Chinese Peony is a beautiful herbaceous shrub with long-lasting blooms.  This is a clump-forming  plant with roots that look like a bunch of carrots. Peony "Bowl of Beauty' attracts birds and butterflies. It resent being moved so move them only in the Fall. Prune to remove deadwood after plants leafout in Spring.  Stake blooms to prevent from resting in soil.  Protect Paeonia lactifolia 'Bowl of Beauty' shrub from wind.
