shrubby herbaceous perennial
that is very easily grown. This plant has a purple stem and it is a
birds, bees
and butterflies attractant. The interesting berry-like seeds are reddish-black
in color. Phytolacca americana is a self-seeder and makes a nice
ornamental plant.
