Comments: Solidago rugosa 'Fireworks' or Goldenrod is an
interesting perennial plant that spreads by underground roots. It
produces vibrant arching golden flowers that looks like exploding
fireworks. The 1.5' long spikes weep nicely without any staking.
They are loaded with with rich golden-colored flowers; these
radiatig blossoms
attract many bees and butterflies. Solidago rugosa
'Fireworks' blossoms provide nectar for butterflies such as especially
Clouded Sulphur, Eastern ailed Blue, Gray Hairstreak, Milbert's Tortoise
Shell, Monarch, Pearl Crescent, Purplish Copper, Silver-bordered
Fritillary, Snout butterfly, Viceroy, Wood Nymph. Goldenrod
is easy to grow and is slow to spread. It is carefree and low
maintenance. Solidago rugosa 'Fireworks' are excellent plants to have
for a beautiful Summer garden. Plant them en masse for a
dramatic effect in the back of the perenial border
or as specimen plants to accent the patio. Goldenrod blossoms make
great cut flowers for
floral arrangements.
