Comments:  Dianthus barbatus or Sweet William has different shades of colors on their blooms as you can see from the photos taken from my garden.  They are self-seeding, mat-forming perennials and  are a pleasure to have.  I  remove spent flowers to keep more blooms coming.  Not only do I love them for their beautiful colors but the bees and butterflies especially the Giant Swallowtail, Eastern Tigertail and Skipper butterflies love them for their nectar.  These pretty flowers add color to my perennial bed.
