Comments: Dianthus barbatus or Sweet William has different shades
of colors on their
blooms as you can see from the photos taken from my garden. They
are self-seeding, mat-forming perennials and are a pleasure to
have. I remove spent flowers to keep more blooms coming.
Not only do I love them for their beautiful colors but the bees and butterflies especially
the Giant Swallowtail, Eastern Tigertail and Skipper butterflies love them
for their nectar. These pretty flowers add color to my
perennial bed.
