Family:  Apocynaceae (Dogbane)
Origin:  Mediterranean
Light:  Full sun
Height:  8'-10'
Spread:   4'-6'
Blooms: All year, single or double petals, clusters at branch terminals.  Comes in different colors - pink, red, white, salmon, yellow
Foliage:  Small, elongated, lance-shaped, thick and thery, grren, grow opposite each other
Soil:  Well-drained 
 
Water:  Regular
Fertilizer:  Monthly with 10-10-20 fertilizer.  For more blooms, apply iron to soil.
Propagation:  Stem cuttings, air layering  
Uses:  Screening, borders, hedges, groupings, back of perennial garden
Caution:  All parts of the plant are poisonous.  Do not ingest or burn any part of plant.  Seek immediate medical treatment for any allergic reaction.
Comments:  Nerium Oleander or Oleander is an upright elegant rounded evergreen shrub.  It is an easy-to-grow, drought and salt-tolerant and it requires very little maintenance.  Prune plant in early Spring to promote fuller growth and to maintain its size or just let it grow as a tree. This picture shows a pretty single-petaled Candy Pink Nerium Oleander with white stripes in the center.
