Comments:  Rhododendron or Azaleas are pretty perennial shrubs that love acid soil.  They come in many beautiful colors which really brighten up the landscape.  Azaleas have shallow roots, mulch year round.  Do not fertilize in winter, early Spring, Fall or Winter.  I planted my Azalea underneath a pine tree and it loves it there.  The Giant Swallowtail butterflies love to flock to the plant for its nectar.
