Blue' or Creeping Phlox or Moss Phlox is a perennial groundcover with a
low, creeping growth habit. In mid-Spring, it produces masses of lovely
blue-violet blossoms. It has evergreen foliage. Phlox subulata
'Emerald Blue' is easily propagated from stem cuttings, mound or simple
layering. It performs best in well-drained, acidic, neutral or mildly
alkaline soil in a sunny to part shade environment. It is a fast
growing and soon forms a nice mat. Mass plant Creeping Phlox under
taller perennials or in borders for an eye-catching display. Use it in
edging or in the rock garden. It is low maintenance and tolerates
drought conditions. Moss Phlox makes excellent xeriscaping plants. It
adds colors to the shady landscape. Phlox subulata 'Emerald Blue' is a
good performer and returns next season with a more vibrant growth.
