Phytolacca americana 'Silberstein' has superb foliage variegation, just like an artist's work of art; its long green herbaceous leaves are speckled with cream, borne on amazing red stems. Speckled Poke is prized for its ornamental foliage in the absence of its blossoms. Variegated American Pokeweed is easily propagated from seeds. It thrives best in well-drained soil, in a sunny to parat shade landscape. In mid-Summer,Variegated Indian Poke produces white flowers, followed later by attractive purple berries. Birds especially Bluebirds and Robins enjoy feasting on the fruits. The fruits make interesting purple dye. Phytolacca decandra contain medicinal properties.
