Origin: Native to the wet savannahs of southeast USA,
from northeastern Florida to eastern Mississippi.

Blooms: Deep crimson red nodding flowers; the orange
stamens are loaded with pollen.
Foliage: 3' high, 3" across, pitcher with top that range from a
totally white to a white netted in green or white with red vains or
sometimes a combo of all theree colors. Top of picture is narrow,
gradually flare upwards, has a lid that some times overarches the throat
of the pitcher.

Comments: Sarracenia leucophylla or White Pitcher Plant is
spectacular frost hardy insectivorous plant. that thrives well in
a bog garden. The deep crimson flowers have large drooping petals.
hanging Insects are attracted to its necter. The lid of the
White Pitcher Plant has downward pointing hairs and the slippery sides
of the picture make it impossible for the insects to escape, hence
trapping them. The Exyra moths love to feed and live within
the pticher. Sarracenia leucophylla seeds are easily propagated
and the seedlings makes excellent plants for the terrarium. White
Pitcher Plant is an gorgeous and unique plant for the garden or pot or
